The next goal is to offer mixed services. Instead of making your survey follow an existing format, we customize surveys to meet your needs. For example, hire Universal Wing for an airborne geophysical survey, either with Skydart or Venturer, then follow up with or simultaneously conduct an aerial Venturer photo survey to maximize your database information. These options will be readily available when the current phase of technology development is completed, likely in 2010.

Consultation: we discuss the client’s needs and create a data acquisition solution and reporting format to meet those needs.
Programming: Universal Wing obtains digital information (digital elevation models, coordinate points, topography maps etc.). Using this information, the UAV flight path is planned and programmed. Continued communication with the client throughout the process is essential and remains an operating norm for the enterprise.
Logistics: Crews mobilize themselves and equipment to the job site.
Data processing: raw data is reviewed and compiled after each survey flight and sent to clients on a regular basis.
Modeling: done using industry standard software
Reporting Procedures and Compilation: daily field operations, weather, processed data and interpretation of data collected during survey, and highest-quality maps / images / other data visulaizations are produced at the customer’s scale and resolution requirements

Universal Wing is a truly unique company. This is particularly true where low level operations or extended pilot focus (eg. terrain following) is required, or where operations place aircrew at increased levels of risk. Universal Wing has been pioneering civilian UAV use in Canada for over seven years. In addition to platform and improvement, we have established a positive working relationship with Transport Canada through good practice, due diligence and honest communication. We have obtained insurance coverage, a first for a civilian operator in this business sector. Universal Wing has also earned a spot on the Canadian Controlled Goods Directorate.
Universal Wing collects commercial airborne Geophysics and other Remote Sensing data with our “Venturer” UAV.
Universal Wing commands a sector niche, offering fully integrated payload and UAV operations solutions that enable state of the art “off the shelf” technologies (such as autopilot, sensor and telemetry systems) in seamless communications with our internally developed specialist payload components. Universal Wing has a team of long term dedicated staff, including a geophysicist, electronic engineer, software development engineer, payload development and remote aircraft operations managers and RC pilot (headed by our chief pilot). The team works together at our research and development facility.
Universal Wing has also developed a unique Helicopter-borne airborne magnetics system, the “Skydart”. This system is unique in that it offers ‘plug and play’ utilization on mineral projects where helicopter(s) resources are required to support multiple functions – the Skydart offers rapid connection / disconnection and simple pilot managed operation of the system whilst delivering industry-leading data.
