History1. Eliminating pilot risk: long hours of dull flying, resulting in fatigue. Historically, fatalities have occurred because of this.
2. Substantially cut surveying costs: Unmanned Air Vehicles burn a fraction of fixed wing or helicopter. The UAV is compact and is easily mobilized to the survey site.
Universal Wing commands a sector niche, offering fully integrated payload and UAV operations solutions that enable state of the art “off the shelf” technologies (such as autopilot, sensor and telemetry systems) in seamless communications with our internally developed specialist payload components. Universal Wing has a team of long term dedicated staff, including an electronic engineer, software development engineer, payload development and remote aircraft operations managers and RC pilot (headed by our chief pilot). The team works together at our research and development facility.
In order to generate revenue for our UAV research and development efforts, Universal Wing developed a unique Helicopter-borne airborne magnetics system, the “Skydart", using our UAV technology. This system is unique in that it offers ‘plug and play’ utilization on mineral projects where helicopter(s) resources are required to support multiple functions – the Skydart offers rapid connection / disconnection and simple pilot managed operation of the system whilst delivering industry-leading data. Skydart is a supplementary service and is not Universal Wing's focus.
