Ian Cook
Software Developer
Ian graduated with a B.Sc in Computer Science and Physics from the University of British Columbia. This is where he developed a keen interest in programming and robotics. He was involved in the UBC club Thunderbird Robotics. He also studied in a graphics graduate lab. Ian has been with the Company for 6 years. He is responsible for software development and sensor integration.
Qinyun Zhang
M.Sc., B.Eng., Geology, Ground Station Operator
Mr. Zhang has over 15 years of international experience in the exploration industry and research institution. He received his M.Sc. in Geology from Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, and a B.Sc in College of Earth Sciences, Jilin University. Over his career he has worked in all phases of exploration as a project geologist, and mainly focused on Micropaleontology and Biostratigraphy of Northeast China, and in wide variety of geological environment and cultural background. He has been a consultant to a number of mining companies in Canada and responsible for computerization, database, drilling, trenching, mapping, GIS and geological data processing. Within Universal Wing, Mr. Zhang is responsible for Geographic information, navigation, autopilot flight control, programming and data post-processing.
Alan Peter Wood
Chief Electrical Engineer
Mr. Wood is an electrical engineer with over 20 years experience in aviation related industry. Beginning with his first appointment as a technician apprentice in 1980 with British Aerospace in the United Kingdom. He was responsible for providing engineering technical support for Raytheon International, the Riyadh International Airport in Saudi Arabia from 1993 to 2004. Mr. Wood is responsible for the integration of new sensors into the UAV platform in addition to trouble shooting and development Mr. Wood holds a Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Sussex in England. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers in England as well as the Western Canada Group of Chartered Engineers.
