While developing the optimal airframe to perform aerial surveys in varied climates and regions, Universal Wing has achieved many advances in Unmanned Technology including:
- UAV aviation liability insurance policy established. This was a feat for Universal Wing because of the due diligence and lengthy process involved in obtaining the unique type of insurance coverage.
- We have had many SFOCs (Special Flight Operations Certificates) granted to us by Transport Canada. This type of Certification permits us to fly our unmanned air vehicle at a specific time and location as requested by Universal Wing.
- Cold weather test performed in government Environmental Test chamber (first generation UAV).
- Established testing field for UAV.
- Passed a security assessment by Canadian Controlled Goods regulating body, earning a registry in the Controlled Goods Directorate.
- Canadian Government agency and Universal Wing collaborate on development on an unmanned disaster management system.
