Declan Sweeney

Chief Executive Officer and Director

Mr. Sweeney is a founding Director and CEO of Universal Wing Geophysics Corp. (Universal).  Universal is a Canadian company established in 2002 specializing in providing airborne data collection using unmanned airborne systems (UAS). Universal is pioneering the civilian commercial use of UAS technology as the preferred method of airborne data collection for the mining and hydrocarbon exploration industry in Canada. Universal performed its first commercial survey in Alberta, Canada in July 2004.

Mr. Sweeney is responsible for the day-to-day running and development of Universal. He has played a major role in accomplishing key milestones in this emerging business sector. This includes working with the Canadian Aviation authorities at Transport Canada to develop a special flight operations certificate (SFOC) framework for the safe and legal commercial operation of Universal’s UAS technology in Canada. He was also instrumental in working with an international insurer to develop and customize an insurance policy to allow for the commercial use of Universals UAS throughout North America.

Mr. Sweeney is also CEO and Director of Universal’s parent company Austin Developments Corp. which is a publicly traded company on the TSX Venture Exchange.

Alan Peter Wood

Chief Electrical Engineer

Mr. Wood is an electrical engineer with over 20 years experience in aviation related industry.  Beginning with his first appointment as a technician apprentice in 1980 with British Aerospace in the United Kingdom.  He was responsible for providing engineering technical support for Raytheon International, the Riyadh International Airport in Saudi Arabia from 1993 to 2004.  Mr. Wood is responsible for the integration of new sensors into the UAV platform in addition to trouble shooting and development Mr. Wood holds a Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Sussex in England.  He is a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers in England as well as the Western Canada Group of Chartered Engineers.

Vanessa Boagert

Corporate Relations

Vanessa has been with Universal Wing since its inception in 2003.  She brings over 13 years of diverse yet complimentary experience to the team, in logistics and administration.  Her extensive background in managing remote mineral exploration camps in the Canadian Arctic make her a proven leader in mission planning.  She is conversant with all the latest UAV industry advances, trends and regulations.  She has worked closely with Transport Canada in obtaining Special Flight Operations Certificates, which grant Universal Wing permission to fly.

 

Monika Sumara

Geophysicist

Monika Sumara is a consulting geophysicist who has been working with Universal Wing Geophysics Corp. since 2004.  In addition to her work with Universal Wing, Ms. Sumara has been involved with many interesting projects; including diamond projects with a number of other diamond exploration companies.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from the University of Calgary.
