In 2008, the Teal group estimated a global market of US $3.8 billion for UAV vehicles, of which US $120 million (3%) was attributed to civilian uses. More recent figures suggest this market will grow to US $11.5 billion by 2019, of which US $588 million (5%) will be civilian. Between 2008 and 2019 over US $4 billion will be spent on civilian UAV procurement. But this figure does not include repair and service contracts, or value-added data collection services supplied by civilian UAV operators like Universal. Many potential users are not aerospace savvy, and are likely to include UAV data capture in their business as a fee-for-service. Universal is primed to meet the market need.
The Venturer is a custom-designed fourth-generation UAV workhorse manufactured exclusively for Universal by Stratus Aeronautics Inc. The Venturer is designed to fly through the night in remote areas. Years in development, this platform will put Universal Wing at the forefront of the civilian UAV industry. For more information about our technology, you may review our technology section.
