UNMANNED TECHNOLOGY

Why Use Unmanned Air Vehicles?

Universal Wing recognizes the many benefits unmanned technology can offer beyond military use.

Unlike conventional aircraft, UAVs can exceed operational parameters of manned missions, for example where low level operations or extended pilot focus (eg. terrain following) is required.  They avoid the danger of pilot fatigue or human error, which can result in inaccurate flight patterns and/or fatalities.  UAVs are able to operate in high-risk environments without endangering flight crews.  They also operate on a fraction of the fuel requirements of manned aircraft, making operations much more cost effective.

UAVs can fly at lower elevations and slower speeds than manned fixed wing aircraft to enhancing signal/noise ratios.

Here is an example of Venturer UAV capturing geo-referenced, aerial photo data.

Low Emissions

The new aircraft was designed with a ‘green’ focus in mind.  Using the Venturer will drastically reduce your company’s carbon footprint during exploration or remote sensing.  The Venturer only burns 1.5L/hr of gasoline compared to manned missions which use more than 100L/hr.  This is a major cost saver to the client because it eliminates the burden of mobilizing large fuel caches.
