Why Use UAVs?

  • They avoid the danger of pilot fatigue or human error, which can result in inaccurate flight patterns and/or fatalities.
  • Unlike conventional aircraft, UAVs can exceed operational parameters of manned missions, for example, where low level operations or extended pilot focus (eg. terrain following) is required.
  • UAVs are able to operate in high-risk environments without endangering flight crews.
  • The most immediate advantage of UAV's with respect to manned vehicles is cost.  UAV's are much cheaper to build and much cheaper to operate.
  • Aerial surveys are currently conducted by satellites, fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter.
  • Satellites suffer from limited resolution, limited instrumentation set and uncontrollable survey times.  For these reasons, Universal's target market is currently dominated by helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.

Low Emissions

The new aircraft was designed with a ‘green’ focus in mind.  Using the Venturer will drastically reduce your company’s carbon footprint during exploration or remote sensing.

A typical fixed wing aircraft (eg. Cessna Caravan) will consume between twenty-five and one hundred times as much fuel as the Venturer UAV while capital cost of such an aircraft is between six and twenty times that of the Venturer UAV.  A typical helicopter (eg. Jet Ranger) will cost about twenty times that of the Venturer and consume two orders of magnitude more fuel.
